TANAH JAMBU, Friday, 24 May 2019 – The Nuzul Al-Quran for 1440 Hijrah was celebrated at a national level on 22 May 2019. The Defence Academy was no exception: this morning, the Defence Academy of Royal Brunei Armed Forces celebrated the Nuzul Al-Quran at the Asy-Syuhada Surau. The event was attended by the Chief Instructor of Defence Academy, Lieutenant Colonel Pengiran Muhammad Shamsul Redza bin Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Tengah as the Guest of Honour. Also present to liven the celebration were senior officers, officers, personnel of Defence Academy and the officer cadets of Intake 18.

  

TANAH JAMBU, Saturday, 18 May 2019 - With the blessings of the holy month of Ramadan, Officer cadets of Intake 18 successfully held a Nasyid competition. Nasyid is a singing performance in which the songs are of religious ones. The competition was held at the Mess Hall 1 of the Officer Mess building, started at 1400H and finished at 1530H. The competition was between groups of 6 with 2 groups for every platoon and the grouping was not restricted by sections.

  

Defence Academy, Friday, 17 May 2019 – Seven years have passed since the helicopter crash that tragically took the lives of 12 RBAF military personnel at Ulu Rampayoh in Mukim Labi in the Kuala Belait district. In conjunction with the holy month of Ramadhan, the Intake 18 officer cadets, once again, had the opportunity to hold a cleaning campaign and Tahlil recital to and for our fallen heroes.

  

2012 saw the tragic helicopter crash that claimed the lives of 12 military personnel including 8 officer cadets in training. In remembrance of these fallen soldiers, on Friday afternoon of 4th Ramadhan, 1440 which corresponded to 10th May, 2019, the Officer Cadets of Intake 18 paid an honourable visit to some of their cemeteries and held a cleaning campaign and Tahlil.

 


  

TANAH JAMBU, Thursday, 26 April 2019 – Yesterday marked the end of the Ex Section Battle Drill (SBD), also known as Exercise First Strike, held at Pasir Putih, for the officer cadets of Intake 18. Ex First Strike was an exercise aimed to develop the cadets’ command and leadership skills in a challenging tactical exercise and develop the cadets’ understanding of basic tactics while establishing the basis for future tactical exercises. At the same time, developing command and leadership skills as well as, a confirmatory assessment of basic military skills. The exercise went on for one night and two days. They were divided into two groups where Group A with a total of 43 OCdts, consisting of Section 1 and 2 from Platoon 1 and 2 and Section 1 from Platoon 3, was deployed on Tuesday and had their Ex First Strike the next day, while Group B, consisting of the remaining sections of 34 OCdts, finished theirs yesterday.

  

TANAH JAMBU, Monday, 18 March 2019 – Officer Cadet  School today held a ceremony to appoint the Officer Cadet that was selected to hold a leading role within the 18th Intake. The ceremony was held at the Officer Cadet School (OCS) Mess Hall of the Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces (DA RBAF), Tanah Jambu. 23 Officer Cadets were appointed to be Cadet rank holder for the 18th intake. The rank given were one Officer Cadet Warrant Officer (OCdt WO), one Officer Cadet Staff Sergeant (OCdt SSgt), 3 Officer Cadet Sergeants (OCdt Sgt), 9 Officer Cadet Corporal (OCdt Cpl) and 9 Officer Cadet Lance Corporal (OCdt LCpl).

  

TANAH JAMBU, Thursday, 14 March 2019 – Appointment ceremony for the Probationary Officer Cadet of Intake 18 was held today at the Ceremonial Hall of the Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces (DA RBAF), Tanah Jambu. By the consent of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, 82 Probationary Officer Cadets were appointed to be  Officer Cadets. Present to award the new insignias was the Commander of the RBAF, Yang Mulia Major General Pengiran Dato Paduka Seri Aminan bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud.

  

TANAH JAMBU, Thursday 14 March 2019 – A Passing Out Parade was held this morning at Defence Academy RBAF Parade Square, Tanah Jambu. 82 Probationary Officer Cadets marched into the parade grounds of Defence Academy RBAF, marking the end of their 6-weeks of initial basic military training phase.

  

TANAH JAMBU, Thursday 31st January 2019 – The Opening ceremony for Officer Cadet School for Intake 18 was held today at the Auditorium of Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces (DA RBAF), Kampung Tanah Jambu. Present to officiate the opening ceremony of the course was the Commandant of the DA RBAF, Colonel Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan.

  

TANAH JAMBU, Friday, 18 January 2019– In conjunction with the Officer Cadet School Intake 17 Sovereign’s Parade, the newly commissioned officers held a regimental graduation dinner night at the Ceremonial Hall, Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF).

  

TANAH JAMBU, Thursday, 17 January 2019 -  His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah Ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, the Minister of Defence and Supreme Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) consented to grace the Sovereign’s Parade Ceremony for the 17th intake of officer cadets, held at the Parade Square of the Defence Academy RBAF in Kampung Tanah Jambu.
